Dishwasher Not Filling With Water – Troubleshooting Guide

1. Check the Water Supply

  • Is the water tap open?

  • Is the water pressure sufficient?

  • Any water outage or plumbing issue?

Solution: Open the tap and ensure water is reaching the machine.

2. Inspect the Water Inlet Hose

  • The hose might be kinked, bent, or blocked.

  • Connections could be loose.

Solution: Straighten or clean the hose and ensure it is properly connected.

3. Clean the Water Inlet Filter

  • There is a small mesh filter at the hose or machine inlet.

  • If clogged, water cannot enter the dishwasher.

Solution: Remove the filter, rinse it with water, and reattach it.

4. Check the Door Latch

  • If the door is not fully closed, the dishwasher prevents water entry for safety.

Solution: Close the door properly and inspect the latch mechanism.

5. Inspect the Solenoid / Water Inlet Valve

  • The electronic valve controlling water entry may be faulty.

  • A defective valve prevents water from entering.

Solution: Requires electrical testing and usually professional service.

6. Program Selection and Electronic Control Board

  • Incorrect program selection or electronic malfunction can stop water intake.

Solution: Try selecting a different program. If the problem persists, contact a service technician.

? Summary:

  • First, check simple things: water tap, hose, filter, and door latch.

  • If water still doesn’t fill, the inlet valve or control board may be defective.

  • For electrical or electronic issues, always contact an authorized service technician.

First, check simple things: water tap, hose, filter, and door latch.
